What will the full Moon in Scorpio see?   It’s very hard to keep Scorpio in the dark.  A   full Moon in Scorpio sheds light like no other, dark light.

At this moment of fullness there seems to be a concordance of planets in chorus with the Luminaries (Sun and Moon)

How will a watery Mars  energize  the Sun in Taurus (Earth) and Moon in Scorpio (Water)?

Chiron, may hold the key to the way we feel Mars energy clearing blocks.   Saturn has his own plans for future visions.  Let’s hope a world conference on climate is awake.  The Teacher is making a powerful square to Sun, and the quirky Uranus.  Saturn also squares Venus and Mars.   Is this a damper on the joy of this season or a promise to give structure to a worldwide wake up to climate change?

Beltane comes at the end of this week and the Taurus Sun will warm our circle of celebration for the fertility of this moment of blossom and new green shoots, but Scorpio Moon also celebrates the cleansing power of death.

Full Moon in Scorpion 2021

Tonight is the full Moon of Saile…Willow,   The Moon’s most powerful expression.   Willow grows near water and is the original source of the pain killer, aspirin. Yet Saille, Willow is sacred to the goddesses of death, Hecate,  Circe,  Caileach.

Willow Wand

When the wind sweeps

the basket of my body,

I feel each of the ribs,

once Willow’s wands,

which bent and swayed

near water, under Moon.

I know myself water,

tears and sparkling smiles,

laughter and shadow,

the form transformed,

pushed by the torrent

or held in the trickle.

Somewhere there is a spring, water coming from out of the earth, where the celebration of this Moon begins. Find your source of water, to heal, to celebrate to refresh you. There is no sacred moment without the presence of water. The process of birth begins when the waters break loose and flow.

And then, even if it is midday and no full Moon is yet visible, give honor to the source of renewal, Water, the Moon, the joy of Taurus, the depth of feeling, Scorpio as they dance across the circle from one another.

For each degree of the zodiac there is a verbal image called, a Sabian Symbol.   This moment of conjunction between Sun and Moon, which begins the next lunar cycle is full of creative energy: ‘A pregnant woman in a light summer dress. Inner fullfilment.‘

New Moon in Aries hub

The Aries new Moon, which takes place on Sunday, shines with the energy of spring fire.  A line up of planets in the sign of Aries tells us that fire and courage, anger and ebullience are are in the air.   Taste! Take a deep breath of that energy and know it is yours.  In New England, where I live, the leaves are still tightly rolled, and the shape of the land is clearly visible beneath a green and red haze.  Each moment is another step in the spring dance.

There are many planetary fingers pointing at this new Moon. The Sun and Moon are not alone in Aries. Chiron, Mercury and Venus are there, but so are some interesting asteroids, Ceres, the Earth goddess and Eris the mischief maker are in the Aries mix. When I think of mixtures of disparate pieces, I think of swamps, the hidden source of life. Swamp is in us. Fire is in us.

Mars, the planetary ruler of Aries, where the Sun and Moon are meeting, is in a helpful angle.  Since Mars is in Gemini, an Air sign, he is like a bellows blowing the flames higher.   Jupiter is in sync as well with Airy Aquarius.  He could help us make new discoveries during this Aries new Moon.   And we have Pluto adding his deep underworld intensity to what is going on.   Enjoy this energy and go further with something creative, as suggested by Monk: ‘take chances!’  like all the budding plants around you!                                           photo: Bruce Lhuillier

With each new Moon, we glimpse something invisible yet potent, the fiery seed planted in darkness. And, like the Sabian Symbol for this moment of newness, it is about ‘inner fulfillment.’ A pregnant woman carries something within which has no visible form. Her summer dress speaks of the vulnerability of all creative moments. Aries is always out there in front. The Sun delights to occupy Aries; he is associated with warrior energy because what he represents needs protection. A pregnant woman feels her power and her fragility, as in this new Moon moment on Sunday.
