leaves unfurling

The wind dresses me for Spring.

Prepares me for new clothes,

as she strips away my Winter coat.

My winter coat blows in tatters,

my winter coat is rusty black,

the sleeves too tight,

the buttons gone.

It is a crow wing on a windy day.

Like a crow in circular flight,

carried up on spirals of earth breath.

My spring coat will be green.

It will be green like new buds,

still held in their red sheaths.

My spring coat will be sleek,

and fit me to perfection.
